What can i say??..The food is the best American style BBQ you will find in the entire city. Some reviews on tripadvisor, say the country lol The owner Zach,.is a personal friend,.a great guy from Atlanta Georgia USA.. If you are working in ZZ or passing through you have to go there..to meet the man himself and enjoy the food...It is also one of the communal meeting and hang out places for a lot of the foriegners in ZZ. He has a fully stocked bar and if you can think of a drink..he can probably make it. Right now (2015) Zach just completed a refurb which has made the place better..and when you go and check the place out you will see a fantastic multi screen entertainment that will cater to your music and film needs.( I helped build that so i am a little proud lol) But i digress,..I went there a ton of times for food,.to hangout..for many an night out..and I always had the best time. Usually busy at the end of the week when people need to relax..but the place to go for events like Thanxgiving..Halloween etc. Zach as a friend, and as a restaurant owner never missed a beat in making sure his customers and friends alike had the best experience possible...Some of my best memories are nights in that place. The google pin is not quite accurate..its about a block over to the right..addy is Dongfeng lu >Wen bo dong lu.. in the Lan bo Wan complex Do yourself a favour and go visit..you wont regret it.

Great place for a bbq American meal! Owner Zach and his wife are amazing! (Congrats again with the little one) Great bbq, pizza, and my favorite the traditional wings. Happy New Year all the way from Houston!
The ONLY truly authentic American restaurant you'll find in Zhengzhou. Awesome food and nearly everything is handmade fresh in the restaurant. Authenticity and quality are the top priorities of the American owners. This place is seriously good. Not "good for China". Just plain good. If you're craving something familiar, this is the place to get it. P.S. Other perks: 1) almost always English speakers there to chat with. 2) decent beer selection and tasty cocktails. 3) patio with outdoor seating. 4) western toilet.
Very nice BBQ place with nice atmosphere given by the owner and his friendly personnel. Ribs are so good but have to ordered one day in advance. It’s worth it!
I'm a native Texan and I KNOW BARBECUE. Zaxx is not only the best in China, but, frankly, I've never had barbecue any better out of 35 countries I've visited and having eaten barbecue in Texas all of my life. Zach and Teresa are also the best people that you'll ever meet. They take their business and customers seriously. Other foreigners have tried to open restaurants here and all of them have failed within a year or two at the most. Zach was born to do this business and he is the best.
The owner was helpful with translation. The menu was able to be translated using phone. The service was fast.
As an American coming here for familiar comfort food and taste, this place is amazing…. If this place was in Texas it would be a 10/10. Amazing food, amazing vibes. I can’t recommend this place enough.
One of THE best BBQ I've ever had! And not just best ever in Zhengzhou or China but everywhere I've lived! FYI I've lived in Memphis for 2 years and the BBQ there doesn't compare to Zax. Tender, slide-off-the-bone, just the right amount of fat, and delicious sauce always brings me back to Zax. Their sweet potato fries are great as well. Give it a try!
For me, ZAX is a destination. Best American BBQ in China, with others not even in the conversation. The owner and his family are stalwart citizens of Zhengzhou, holding it down on a level not even seen in Tha 'Jing. Real Recognize Real, and ZAX is as real as it gets!
